Go to Start/Run, and type: REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL Then open IE, Tools menu,
Options, Program Tab, and click the "Reset Web Settings" button.

AD rambled on in microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support:
I, too, have a problem, with "hyperlinks" (isn't that what they are
called?).

It didn't start after SP2, because SP2 automatically downloaded onto my
computer some months back, totally froze it up, so I had to do a
reinstall of everything (but not SP2), turned off my Automatic Updates,
and will not install SP2 until I know I can do it safely.

I use AOL for email. That is where links stopped working. The "hand"
would appear when my cursor was directly over the link, but nothing
would happen -- clicking on it, etc. --- nothing would happen (well,
other than briefly seeing the entire address). So, I had to do the
"copy" and "paste" thing into WordPerfect, click on there and then it
would take me to the site.

However, recently when I do the copy and paste thing, instead of taking
me to the site via AOL, for some reason my computer takes me to Internet
Explorer, which has become a real pain, because IE either takes forever
to load and/or it never does load. So, links have essentially become
useless to me, unless I copy down the entire address and hand enter it.

I have looked and looked all over the net, and can't seem to find a
answer to this problem.

Help!!!!!
