Can't change Control Panel from Classic to Category

I much prefer the Classic version of the Control Panel, but once in a while
I like to use the Category version.
I am in Classic now and want to switch to Category, but there is nothing
that I can find to switch it back from Classic .. I've read several articles
(including Kelly's Tweaks) but they all refer to a common task left pane ...
I don't have such a pane ... how can I switch it back to Category? Thanks

Tools/Folder Options/General tab, enable common tasks here. That is the only
way to get the category view.
