Can't browse but have good IP?

I have a machine here that is setup with WINXP Pro, Cable
connection to the net. I can get a valid IP, I can ping
most IP's, but not all. I can not send or recieve email
either.

Has anyone seen anything like this? The ISP provides all
DNS settings and IP's on connection. When I open UP IE6,
It finds the page, say's it's connecting but just hangs
until it times out.
Virus maybe?
 
can you ping yahoo.com? if not, you may have a DNS issue.
