Can't boot up xp

I have an pc with xp home edition with plenty of ram and storage space but I
can't boot up even to safe mode.... I was going to use recovery cd that came
with pc but it asks for a floppy and an explanation after recovery. Company
where pc is no longer around tht i can tell...yes its an old pc.

Have you got the original WinXP Home edition CD?
If so, use the recovery/repair tools on that, otherwise I don't know
what you mean.
