can't access my winxp disk

Have another post (Re: virus! Need to remove.) and one of the
troubleshooting steps is to log into the the recovery console on my winxp
installation disk and run some dos commands. Unforunately the computer has
other ideas! Won't boot to the cd, instead goes to the hard drive where the
probable virus resides. Boot sequence is floppy/cd-rom/hard drive. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Go into the BIOS and change the Boot sequence to cd-rom/hard
drive/floppy. Then the cd should boot ok for you.

no luck. says its doesn't recognize it!? went into setup and it shows it
enabled.

What isn't recognised, the cd-rom or cd?
Can you be more specific and are getting any error messages when you try
to boot from the cd.
Maybe the cd isn't bootable, but without more info I don't know.
