Can't access Microsoft sites

"I had a file called Hosts, which I renamed. Everything is now okay>
 
It is possible that you were infected with the MyDoom B variant which added
a link into the HOSTS file so that Microsoft could not be contacted in
order to download fixes.

Check inside the HOSTS file for the following line

127.0.0.0 Microsoft.com

or something like that. If you delete that line then you should be able to
contact them again while keeping the other addresss you have in that file
prohibited.

What the HOST file does is to redirect any link specified in the file to
your own machine (127.0.0.0) thereby causing the link to be unusable.
