Can't access internet through VPN

Hello All,

I am not able to access the internet once connected to
a VPN Server.. Are you not supposed too or is there some
sort of trick that can be used?

What type of VPN software are you using? If it's the
standard microsoft type you have to change the Internet
connections settings to match those of the LAN you are
connecting too. If it's a Cisco based VPN, you can enable
split tunneling and allow Internet traffic to flow freely,
without needing to go through the VPN connection.
 
go into your vpn properties | Networking | tcp/ip
settings. in here you will find a option to use default
gateway on remote network. remove the check. that sould
help.
