Hi,

I reinstalled windows XP home in the same directory as the first
installation, but without deleting any other directories. In the first
installation, i had a account 'administrator' with full rights and it's own
directory.

In the new installation, i defined a account as 'administrator' with full
right. In the 'document and settings' i can see those two directories:
administrator and administrator.newnameofmypc.

My problem is that i can't access or delete the directory 'administrator'
even when logged as administrator.

Any idea how to do that?
Thanks
bob

Right click the directory, click properties, click security, click advanced,
click owner and take ownership of the directory.

I've got the same problem but when I do that it says
that you can't change it. It's grayed out. How do I
gain acess to my documents

Thanks for replying, but ...
when i rightclick and taking properties of the directory, i get General /
Share / Custom (or something like that). When i take 'Share', it tells me to
drag the dir. to Shared dir. and possibly to but i can't do anything. Nor
copy the dir neither cut the dir ....
I use windowsxp Home.
thanks

Bob,

You have simple file sharing enabled (it is by default by the way). That is
why you do not see the options i have mentioned in my first post. To disable
this and to get all options, double-click on my computer, go to tools,
folder options, go to the view tab and then de-select "Use Simple File
Sharing (Recommended)". Press Ok to confirm and then use the options i
mentioned in my first post.

Good luck,
Xander
