Can'r reach one xp machine in domain

I have a Windows 2003 domain with XP clients. I have recently added a new
machine and it can use everything on the network but I can't connect to it
using Remote Desktop, browsing in Net Neighborhood etc. Even with the
firewall switched off I still can't reach it. It is on the same subnet as
all the others. I can reach all other machines. Any ideas?

assuming you don't have any firewall on this computer, can you ping it by IP? also what do you receive if using net view \\xpip?

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are other
possibilities too. What antivirus / antiworm protection do you use? Read this
article with an open mind.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from the problem
computer, and from 2 properly working computers, so we can diagnose the problem.
Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely:

when running browstat on problem laptop it lists itself as master browser
(only one). The registry setting is at ismasterbrowser No. It was
originally on false when the problem was already occuring. The server log
states that the laptop is trying to be master browser.

I'll try to help you, but right now you're not providing too much to work from.
I can't see your network from here, so give us some diagnostic data please.

if you don't have firewall, you should be able to ping. Can you ping the computer self? Also make sure no other security software running.
