Canon PowerShot S50 USB problems

Whenever I attempt to use the bundled software I get
a "please select your camera" box, with the name of the
camera repeated twice, with the only difference being the
first is "Canon Powershot S50" and the second is "Canon
PowerShot S50".

The documentation with the camera said that Windows XP
has built in support for the S50, but this didn't work
for me so I installed the WIA 6.0 Canon driver. When I
was installing the driver I got a Windows prompt for the
location of "usbscan.dll", which I found in
C:/windows/ServicePackFiles/i386, which was fine BUT it
asked for the same file twice and I think this may be the
source of my problem. I tried uninstalling and manually
removing the driver and starting again, but didn't help.

Also when I was using the WIA 6 driver the first time, I
named the camera "Canon PowerShot S50" in My Computer,
but after the driver was installed the second time the
camera was named "Canon Camera" and when I tried to
rename it back to the original name I get "Error Renaming
Device: Cannot rename Canon Camera: A device with the
name you specified already exists, or the name is
invalid. Specify a different name." with an OK box from
Windows.

The first question is then how I can 'remove' one of the
cameras. And the second is where are the names for the
cameras saved so I can delete the first name, and use the
one I want!

Thanks to anyone who read this and can help!
