I'm in the US and the printers sold here have CD/DVD printing disabled.
I bought a tray followed the instructions to put the service mode and set to
CDR Print
I even made sure the cmnFSI_CDRSWITCH is set to 1 in the registry - D/L
drivers from the Europe site - I think it is the same driver, has the same
ID 190B

If you are in the US and direct CD printing was that important then you
should have bought an Epson printer. However, I do agree that Canon
printers are better for a number of reasons. Make sure you use Canon ink

I went in bought an Epson yesterday for the studio. I have and Epson 740 at
home on one computer.
The Canon was a gift two years ago I gave to my girlfriend. What irritates
me is all the promo and the box said print directly to CD/DVD they didn't
mention that it is only outside the US.

Uninstall and reinstall..... and check that the CD Tray appears in the Paper
Sizes in the display. That's when you know that the internals are all set.
