Canon Pg5, CLi 8's Chip resetting!

S

To all those in the UK who have canon printers using these cartridges, I see
that Cartridge World shops now supply refilled cartridges with RESET chips
on them. I have used them and so far have had no problems, just like
installing a new cartridge, no loss of ink status monitor.

Do they sell them on-line, or only in the shops?
What are prices?

Why do second best. Canon supplies the real thing. And with the real
patented ink.

At a very expensive price!!!!
Two sets of replacement cartridges cost more than the printer.

I never said Canon ink was cheap.  As a matter of fact I do think it is priced way too high.  I do say it is the best and the company if far more reputable than the fly by niters garage shop unprofessionals that will not even tell you what they are selling and fail to prominently disclose important facts.

I do not know what price all the shops are supplying these cartridges at,
only the Oxford branch. Their prices are: To refill the PG5 £5.50 and the
CLi8's £4.50 each. You take or send your empties to the shop, they replace
them with refilled and rest ones. I understand that the ink used is supplied
by OCP inks. One of the largest supplies to the industry. Unfortunately they
do not have an online service yet. I believe Cartridge World as a whole is
looking to have web sites set up for each shop although my contact did not
know when this was rolling out. As of now I am unable to tell the difference
between new or refilled cartridges on my MP600, I have also used them on my
son's iP4300 with no problems.

They do have a website here:-
http://www.cartridgeworld.co.uk/index.php
The Canon carts do not appear to be listed on their webpage but there are
links with information about all their stores.

Hey miserable kid, why don't you show us your real expertise in inkjet printers?
You want people listen to you you need to convince them by showing you are an expert.
Now how about this one? I have used refills and colors all looked fine. But one day
I discovered the colors have changed. I got a color cast on each photo I printed.

Please tell us what caused this?

Any number of things. Go to the Nifty-Stuff Forum, sign in, check the FAQ
link, and read through the first item about why your printer isn't printing
properly. If the color shift is toward magenta look for a poor feeding Cyan
cart - always look for the color opposite the shift. Most often, after
several refills you get a bit of dried ink partially blocking the sponge and
the outlet filter. This causes the cart to not feed properly. The air vent
can also have some dried ink which blocks air intake to offset the ink that
leaves the cart for printing. Read the info on the Nifty Forum about
purging carts. For about $5 worth of parts from a hardware store you can
make a simple device that hooks up to your sink and you can wash the dried
ink out to make most carts work as well as new again. Works great with OEM
Canon carts. I suspect that you already tried the cleaning cycles from your
printer software. Lest our troll tell you that it is because you use
aftermarket inks, Canon put those cleaning cycles in the software for their
own OEM inks. Nuff said. There are some head cleaning techniques on the
Nifty Forum as well. Worst case - you reached the end of the duty life of
the printhead if you printed a lot and you have to buy a new printhead.
Canon printheads don't have a very long duty life as indicated in their
literature.
