Canon i850 problems

T

Tony Fendall

Have just replaced all cartridges for the 1st time.
The printer is now completely ruined.
All colour print backgrounds are striped. If green background then
alternating dark and light green stripes.
If blue background then alternating dark and light blue stripes.
The stripes are perfectly even about 3mm wide.
I have cleaned and deep cleaned and aligned several times to no avail.
Is there anything I can do or is it back to manufacturer time?
Regards
Tony

You have leaking cartridges it sounds like. Plug wherever you refilled with
hot glue...and don't be afraid to use alot. BTW, don't use the empty
cartridges that come with some of the refill kits...they leak. Reuse a set
of Canon cartridges.

Hi Guys,
I don't re-fill; I bought 3rd party cartridges from a high street store.
I guess they will change them, but have I damaged the printer by using
non-Canon?

try inkjetgoodies refill blanks. Ive thrown away my canon cartridges
and exclusively use these blanks. Nothing is easier. They are made to
refill and no mess or leaking.

Using non-Canon doesn't damage the printer. You may have just bought
a set of faulty cartridges, I've don'e that with my Epson. Bought
a set of 6 and 3 failed. Got a refund.

You might consider refilling your Canon originals yourself. At least
that way you'll have some control over what you put inside your printer.
I refill my own, they work great.

oh gosh, I hope not.. But it seems your compatibles is the trouble.
If you want refills, use blanks from inkjetgoodies.com and ink from
alotofthings.com or atlanticinkjet.com bulk ink. They both use
formulalabs ink which is very high quality. ONLY and I repeat ONLY
alotofthings.com will use formulalabs ink in most of their compatible
cartridges. Email them to see if yours is one of them if you dont want
to buy blanks.

good luck. If you have the originals laying around even if they are
dry, I would still pop them in. Im sure they are still wet enough to
keep the head from drying out. Send your new crap ink back and send
them a message.

Oh, and don't use misleading subject lines.

Something like 'Compatible ink problems in my i850' might have been more
accurate.

OK smartarse; how was I to know it was a compatible ink problem when I
originally posted.
Mind your manners please.

The poor guy obviously has problems and you want your little bit of glory by
trying to pick him up on grammatical errors (according to you). If you have
nothing useful to say then you are better off not saying it, all you have
achieved here is to display your ignorance, people like you make me want to
puke.

Replaced my Canon original black ink cart with a blank cart and
aftermarket ink from Inkjet Goodies. So far, everything is working
perfectly. I could not be happier.

I have a full set of spare carts that have been filled and are ready
for use, but I used black ink at a rate twice as fast as the color, so
far. That is why only the black was replaced.
