Canon 8000 scanner

Hi
Anyone in this group who have troubles with contacting the scanner, I'm
running windows XP-pro, and it seems like I can't get anything from the
scanner, it looks like things happened with the update from microsoft in
february.
I have tried to download drivers from canon, but no luck.
Any suggestions ??

Is it not worth uninstalling the update which you think caused this?
