Canon 5000f scanner don't work

I downloaded the driver for my Canon 5000F scanner from the Canon Site and
installed it.

However my computers ( I tried both my notebook and stationary) don't work
with it.

It worked with the CD I got when I bought it but now I lost that CD so I am
stuck with what I can find on Canons stupid site (where you btw have to PAY
to have them SEND you pdf:s of products you already bought)

I don't know if it's the driver or the scanner who is faulty - judging by
the poor quality of the site it could be either.

Can someone confirm if their 5000f works with the driver

I now get the message "Error in scanner", Error code 15 and I believe it's
the scanner hardware that is faulty ...
