Cannot write photo files to CD.

I'm really befuddled and in need of help. I imagine you might have answered lots of questions like mine. From the "My Pictures" folder, I am attempting to write photos to a CD-RW to take into a local store to print. I have a CD-Rewritable drive, have set up the drive to record, and put in a blank CD-RW disc. Consistently, though, when trying to "Copy to CD" I get the following messages:

1) No blank disc in drive (which I can't understand---these are new discs..Memorex)
2) "F:/ not accesssible" (can't figure this out)
3) "Cannot complete copy"

I'm lost. I want to save these pictures and back up research files, and I've tried every possible troubleshooting idea. Help!

Many thanks,
Steve

You can use Roxio or XP but not both.
If you uninstalled Roxio, check your CD drive.
Right click on it and click on Properties.
A window will open with different tabs at the top. Click on the Recording
tab. Then check the box "Enable..."
and try copying again.
If you reinstall Roxio, use Roxio to copy photo files. Open Roxio and select
copying data files.

Thanks, John...those articles did help. I'm now at the point where I can
copy the files to the temp folder to prepare them to be "written" to the CD.
After clicking on "Write to CD", the computer goes through the process as if
all was well. Then, at the very end, I get an error message "CD cannot be
completed; error in writing"..I have absolutely no clue what's going on! I
have copied CDs before. I had Roxio Version 6, but I removed it this
morning b/c I thought it might be interfering...any further
suggestions---help---anyone?

Sorry, forgot one thing. In the same Recording tab window, there is a box at
the bottom "automatically eject after recording. Check this box also.
Probably why you also find this disk to be full. It was not closed properly,
you ejected it manually during rebooting which is OK but XP must complete
the operation before ejecting.

Thank you, Yves!

That seemed to work...in fact, I needed to reboot my system after
uninstalling Roxio. The files copied successfully to the disc. Thank you!!
But.....of course....something else popped up--perhaps you can shed light on
this for me...
1) The files copied successfully, but now when I try to add more files,
it states that the CD is full. I copied 9.8MB of photos to a CD that's
supposed to hold 800MB...what's happening?
2) When I click on my F:\ to verify that I can see the files, all works
well. But, then, I cannot eject the CD at all...no matter what I do. I had
to shut the computer down and reboot to get the drive to open. Any
thoughts?
