Hi,

I've always been able to view-source .. but now, it will not *ever* open;
I've had that problem before but have done everything this time; cleared temp
diles; cleared cookies; run, run and re-run Spybot; Ad-Aware; am updated
continuously with Norton ... Hmm, any recommendations? I've gone through the
forum here ... and am doing most of what I see others are advised to do. Sure
would appreciate any help, thanks

This is usually fixed by emptying the Temporary Internet Files.

Also, if you have a shortcut to Notepad on your desktop rename it to Npad.

Some people have reported that Quick View Plus can cause this.

or

Restore Source View

Backup your registry before modifying

Search the registry (Start>run..type in "regedit" without the quotes> press
OK, The search for the DWORD "noviewsource".(without the quotes)

If that exists, delete it or set it to 0.

Thanks both of you!

Okay, ... something curious going on here .. first of all, I ran regedit,
but fif not ind a noviewsource file anywhere ... went back and manually
deleted the few TIFs that were in that holder ... then Notepad came right up
when I asked for view>source finally.

Hmm, ... what's that mean ,,,?

I would like to ask: Is it [generally] the quantity of files in TIF? ... OR:
is it a particular type of file that is interfering with my request to view
source?

Because if it's a specific file(s), hey what is it (where's it coming
from???) what do I do?

But if it's simply the quantity of files in the TIF .... hmm, what then?

Thanks in advance ... appreciate it.

Michael

AFAIK it's TIF being too full. All I know for sure is that clearing TIF
restores View | Source the majority of the time.

Hi Michael,

Go to IE/Internet Options/Delete Files. Also in Settings change the amount
to 40 MB. This will help in preventing the index files from becoming
overloaded.
