cannot view html in notepad after view, source

i cleared my cache which enabled notepad to open when i click view, source. but, no html appears in notepad (notepad opens & is completely blank). windows xp pro, ie 6...i've searched this site for help but haven't found any.

anyone know what needs to be done? thanks...

You cleared your cache that's when you said goodbye to your html. Save it first
to a permanent file such as your download or documents. Then open Notepad to
read it.

+++ Same Problem +++
A web page is displayed, I click View/Source, and only see an empt
Notepad page. This has just started happening recently, and I do no
recall doing anything to this machine that might affect the display
The web page is in cache, and I can save it to a temp directory, bu
that's several steps I did not need to do before. I've gone through th
registry, and Internet Explorer default HTML Editor is notepad.ex
(c:\windows\notepad.exe %1). So far, nothing I've read helps get m
back to where I was two weeks ago. I continue to download everythin
Microsoft says I need to keep my PC current. I wonder if one of th
"protections" or "upgrades" might be the culprit
