Cannot view shared folders, but can access them directly

I have three Windows Vista machines, and I am trying to share files between
them. Two of them work perfectly, and I can access their files from any of
the other PCs. The third is more of a problem. If I try to access it through
the network browser I get access denied, and I get the same if I type its
address in (\\athsmedia-pc), however if I try to access a shared folder using
its full address (eg \\athsmedia-pc\downloads) I can access it without any
problems.

I have set up the shared folders in exactly the same way as I did on the
other two, and have tried removing and recreating the shares, as well as
disabling the firewall software.

In the network and sharing center I have everything but for the password
protected sharing turned on. The PC can also access the shared folders on the
other computers without any problems.

I have double checked the folder permissions on the shared folders, and
everyone is in the list.

When I try to access the list of shared folders a session is created as the
user guest.

The other thing I find weird is that the router to which all of the PCs are
connected does not list this PC as an attached device, however it does list
the other two. I tried resetting the router to factory default settings, but
it still doesnt show up. I have also checked the computer is getting its IP
address from the DHCP server in the router.

You have a problem with the browser (not Internet Explorer). The browser
requires SMBs, which require NetBT and firewalls properly setup.

Let's look at logs from "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all", from each
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):
