Cannot view pictures via my DVD player

I have pictures on a DVD-R disk but I cannot play it on my DVD player. Is
there a specific way to copy pictures on DVD disk so that we can view them on
DVD players? I am guessing that who ever made the DVD did not use the
"Picture Task " to copy the pictures from the computer to the DVD. Could that
be the reason?

Are you certain that the DVD player can read a DVD-R? Older ones cannot.

========================================
Are the photos in the JPEG format?

Is your DVD Player JPEG compliant?
(Check your owners manual)

If...'yes' to both questions...your DVD
player should recognize the photos.

Or...is this a Video DVD that would play
a slide show like a movie? For example
a project from Photo Story 3 or Movie
Maker.

Check the DVD to see what is actually
on it...insert the DVD in your DVD drive
and go to...Start / My Computer...and
Right Click the icon for the drive the
DVD is in...then choose...Explore. What
file types do you see on the DVD?
