Cannot use my 2000 outlook .pst for contacts in 2003 outlook e-ma.

I have copied my old .pst file into 2003 Outlook. The contacts show up but I
cannot access them through e-mail. I cannot check the box-show this folder as
an e-mail address book
 
Have you added the Outlook Address Book Service to your profile?
