Cannot use Guest account from Mac

Chris

Hi,

I got a problem when I tried to mount shared volumes of
Windows2000 SP3 server from Chooser of MacOS9.2 by using
Guest account. I could select the Win2K server name, but
Shared Volumes were grayed out and could not mount them
(with message "No sufficient privilege...").

I had enabled Guest account on Win2K server, and also I
could log into the Shared Volumes from Mac by using other
accounts.

Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris!

In order for the Guest account to be able to access a Mac volume, the
permissions for "Everyone" must be read or read/write.

The easiest way to verify and fix this is to log on to the server from a Mac
as the "Owner" of the volume. You can select the mounted volume and select
File --> Get Info --> Sharing to set the permissions.

Hope this helps! bill
