Cannot Upgrade from XP Pro SP2 to Vista Ultimate

you can upgrade from xp pro

but required clean install

meaning back up your data
then reinstall application / data

vista needs NTFS
cannot install in FAT

I attempted install on FAT last night both upgrade and clean, results are
upgrade automatically converted to NTFS, clean was a no go, if anyone is able
to different results and get it installed on FAT please let me know how you
did it.

Windows Easy Transfer is probably the easiest way to transfer your data and
settings. Programs will have to be reinstalled

Did you manage to get this working? I have the exact same problem. It has
to do with moving the docs and settings. Similar error:

MIG Expanding raw path C:\Documents and Settings\
MIG AllMigrateableProfilePathsUnderProfilesDir: profile path C:\Documents
and Settings\user of SID outside C:\Documents and Settings\
MIG CheckUnsupportedConfig: at least one user profile is in a
non-standard location

I have gone through the regestry everywhere looking for something that may
be "outside". Not much help there.

Ideas anybody?

how do you move your ''Documents and Settings'' to the C:\ drive? because
mine also has seperated them.
