Cannot uninstall Intellipoint 4.9 to upgrade to 5.2

Every time I try to upgrade the Intellipoint software for my Wireless
optical mouse for Bluetooth I get this message, "Error 1714. The older
version of Intellipoint 5.2 cannot be removed. Contact your technical
support group."

I have tried uninstalling Intellipoint from the control panel but there are
no options for uninstalling the program. It is listed but there is no button
for "Remove". I also tried reinstalling the 4.9 version but the program
tells me it is already installed and If I want to uninstall it see "Windows
Help". I looked there but it was just the usual instructions about going to
control panel etc...

Any help would be great. I have Windows XP SP 2 on a Pentium 4 at 1.5 GHz.

Go to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\. Delete the following
key: {e0cbf06c-cd8b-4647-bb8a-263b43f0f974}. Open Device Manager. (run
devmgmt.msc) Remove the Bluetooth radio listed here. Click Action, click
Scan for hardware changes. This should re-enumerate the Bluetooth adapter,
using the SP2 drivers.
