Cannot transfer jpeg and HTML files from old computer to Windows X

I am trying to copy jpeg files and HTML documents from old computer running
Windows98 to new computer running Windows XP. Files were copied onto CD which
reads OK on new computer. But when I try to copy HTML files from CD, I get a
message that says, Cannot copy [File Name]: Cannot read from the sourse file
or disk. I have made 3 copies of these files on CD and get the same message
each time. Have had no problem transfering other tpes of files.

What types of files were you able to
transfer successfully?

After burning the JPEG files on the
disk/s did you explore them on the
Win9X machine just to verify that
the files were burned correctly?

I wonder if the following article would
offer anything useful:

(321640) CD-ROM Drive May Not Be Able
to Read a UDF-Formatted Disc in Windows XP

Free...Adaptec UDF Reader Driver 5.1.1.213

Maybe a cable of the type shown at
the following link would be useful:

Thank you for your suggestions. I finally found a way to work around this
problem. When you save a web page it is saved with a folder and an html file
with an Explorer icon. In trying to copy these records from a CD, I would
click SELECT ALL and get a message that the file or disc could not be read.
When I just selected the Explorer files and not the folders, these web pages
could be copied including the folders.
