Cannot surf internet coming out of standby

Hi all,
I'm running XP Prof XP2 and and a DSL connection that is always hot. I have
noticed that when my computer comes out of standby, even though the DSL modem
shows all things go with my internet connection and my router indicates
everything's okay, I can usually only surf to one site with my browser before
surfing goes dead and I can no longer reach any sites. Ending browser and
restarting does nothing. I have to reboot the computer (making standby pretty
useless). Doesn't matter whether I have my firewall on or not, same problem
occurs. Has anyone had a problem with this kind of behavior? Is there some
setting I'm missing somewhere? Thanks.

Check the power settings for your network card. See this article:
