Network Unavailable After Standby

S

Salahuddin

I just bought a new motherboard with an onboard gigabit
LAN. I connect to the internet via a router connected to
a DSL modem (this is all wired, not wireless).
Everything works great except when my computer enters
standby mode. When this happens, My "Internet Gateway"
and "Lan" connections under "My Network Connections"
totally disappear and there is a yellow bang next to my
network device under Device Manager (in the control
panel... error Code 43). Needless to say, I cannot
connect to the Internet nor to the other computer on my
network after that. After rebooting everything works
fine until the computer enters standby mode again. Any
ideas on how to correct this?

Hi Salahuddin,

Sounds driver-ish to me. Find out if there is a new
driver available for the network device, and upgrade if
possible. If you're up to rev and the board
is 'certified' to be compatible with WinXP, try
uninstalling and re-installing the network device.

If that doesn't work, try calling tech support for your
new motherboard.
