cannot start Safe Mode

All of a sudden I cannot start in Safe Mode. I get the blue screen that talks
about new hardware or programs and I have installed nothing new. Tried
many, many times to start in Safe Mode and all I get is the blue screen.
Oh, I did reinstall my virus program, Quick Heal, and that is why in need to
start in SM to take out a file and put in a new one.

Help Please.

Maybe I did not make myself clear. My computer starts up fine, but I cannot
start it in Safe Mode, that is the problem as I am trying to follow
instructions from
virus program tech support and overwrite a necessary file. So, I am trying
to start
the computer without the virus program starting.

Thanks,

I tried that and got the same blue screen with message. I tried all the options
SM, SM with command prompt, etc.

hi,

i suspect the problem is either a device failure or a system file being
corrupted.
it won't sulprise me if virus had been around.

my suggestions

flash your bios
try installing your os again and when prompt chooce repair windows then
later on even if all is a mess save your data then at that point make a fresh
instalation of your os.
if after you have made a fresh installation you are not able to access safe
mode chek your hardware ...for instnace try disconecting your modem and the
turn on your computer and if there problem continues try another thing such a
a sound card untill your find the device that;s causing windows crash.
the last try would be changing your memory sometime they get damaged after
long periods of use
