Cannot start Routing And Remote Access server. Error Code 3604

G

Guest

Hi,

Something has gone amiss with my RRAS service as I can no longer start it.
Whenever I try to start the service the following is logged in the Event Log:

The Routing and Remote Access service terminated with service-specific error
3604 (0xE14).

I have been unable to find any useful information with regards to this error
code using both microsoft.com and Google.

I did try to "Disable Routing and Remote Access" and then configure it
again, but whenever I configure it with the Remote Access option it logs this
error. If I enable it without any Remote Access (ie. just routing) the
service will start fine.

Could anyone PLEASE shed some light on this issue as I am now unable to set
up VPN because of this.

Best Regards,

Tom Reiertsen,
Reiertsen Software Systems.

Zip the following logs and post it here:
Router.log, IPRouterManager.log, IasHlpr.log, IasSam.log.

All these logs would be available at %windir%\tracing - after you enable
logging.

Error Code 3604

We had the same problem and we found this solution to resolve :

the file vbajet32.dll was missing in the folder system32. We had restore this file from another machine and restart RAS service.
