cannot sign in to any site

I have an internet connection....I can surf the web all links work....But....
I cannot sign in to any site that requires it such as Ebay, Hotmail, etc. I
can go anywhere on Ebay or MSN , but when I sign in I get the " This page
cannot be displayed" I have gone through the Internet Options..Connections
and Automatically obtain settings ...but still doesn't help.... Any ideas???

I have a Dell XPS...and I am on wireless network in my home with two other
computers. Any ideas would be helpful...

Check point:

In Internet Explorer -
1. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
2. Scroll down to the Security Settings.
3. Make sure that the two boxes are checked that say
"Enable SSL 2" or "Enable SSL 3".
Try your secure sites.

Another thing you can try is:
Go to start/run
Type in: regsvr32 softpub.dll
Press Enter or click OK
