Cannot share internet connection

Can anyone help me?
A while ago I set up two pc's to share an ADSL broadband connection (Client
running XP professional with service pack 1, and other one running Me). Got
it sussed with no teething troubles. A while ago, the pc with Me was packed
away, and only the pc with XP professional has been in use. Updates have
been done regularly to keep it up to spec.
However, over this weekend, I've tried to reconnect the two pc's, but with
no luck.
The one running Me can see and talk to the XP one, but not vice versa. The
XP pc will not allow internet sharing, nor will it speak to the other pc.
Opening the properties box from the status connection window (bit by the
clock), I cannot enable internet connection sharing over my network. The
error message "an error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being
enabled - The specified service does not exist as an installed service"
comes up. I haven't deleted ANY windows files (e.g. dll's) because, to be
honest, I wouldn't know what ones were safe to delete. Doesn't even work
with Zonealarm disabled. The only extra installed recently was a Bluetooth
dongle for my mobile phone. The Windows help and support doesn't really
help, nor can I work out what I need to install of the XP dis c to enable
it. I've even gone as far as uninstalling the Bluetooth software, but to na
avail.

Anyone have any ideas how I can enable it ?

Start > run > services.msc and scroll down to Windows Firewall/Internet
Connection Sharing (ICS). It should be Started in the Status column and
Automatic in the Startup Type column.

If you need to change it highlight the item, right-click, select Properties
and make the changes.
