cannot set up mail

I cannot open the mail set up through either Oulook or the Contol panel. Is
there a way I can check for this defect. I have reloaded Outlook to no avail.
Please help. thanks

This sounds just like my problem:

well my try is that my outlook 2007 and can not go back to running 2003
either, 2007 has not woorked since the installation it gets to the inporting
mail settings and sits there for well i let it go for two days i have tried
this installation several times. I have looked in task manager to see what it
would do in the running task it did not time out it still said running im
running win 64 pro AMD 64 x2 Dual core 4200 + 4 gig ram any ideas i allready
called microsoft and they said the beta product was not supported look at the
FAQ there is nothing about this in the faq and no one from Microsoft has
given any help as of yet
