Cannot send mail in Outlook 2000

I am using outlook 2000 on Windows XP Pro and cannot find out how to send
mail. I received an email and clicked on reply, typed in my reply message
and then on send/receive. That put the email in my outbox and that's where
it remains because nothing I click on will cause the message to send.

Neither of those did any good. The mail is still in the outbox. It even
prompts me saying there is still mail in my outbox whenever I try to close
outlook. Any other ideas?

Hi Milly.......thanks for the reply. I switched back to Outlook Express 6.0.
There were just too many settings to make in 2000. I would have thought
that the installation of Outlook 2000 would have had the defaults set so that
you could at least send and recieve mail.
