I have been getting the same thing since yesterday, too. I've pulled in some
of my computer experts but haven't gotten it solved yet. Anyone with
solutions, please respond!

Same ISP? If so, make sure your account settings agree with this:

http://upgradecentre.sympatico.ca/FAQGuide.aspx?p=FAQ_GOE

If your ISP or error message is different, please post a complete copy
of your error message.

Are you using any third party security software, like the Zone Alarm
firewall? Which antivirus are you using?

Do you need this?

http://www.windstream.com/support/faqs.aspx

Does your connection to the windstream.com server cross over
from one internet provider's equipment to another's before it
reaches the server? If so, any connections that use port 25 are
likely to be blocked.

Did you use the standard install for it? If so, it often helps
to uninstall it, then do a custom install where you tell it to
leave out the parts that scan email.

http://free.avg.com/ww.download?prd=afe

Also, did you ever have an antivirus program from Norton
or McAfee on that machine, even if it was one of the free
trial versions that often come already installed on new
computers? Their uninstall programs often fail to remove
the parts of these programs that cause problems in
Windows Mail.
