This==> 'smpt.aol.com'

Should be==> 'smtp.aol.com'

@sam: Then your error message is probably not identical.
Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

@tjzappa: Besides the typo in the server name, your protocol and port
settings don't agree with what AOL specifies:
http://postmaster.aol.com/imap/express.html

Those instructions were written for Outlook Express, but
Windows Mail uses the same settings as Outlook Express.
