I can receive emails, however I cannot send them. Rather, I am getting an
error message....I have used windows mail with the same server & provider
information for the last year or so with no problems and then all of a sudden
it quit working today, and I have checked all settings to make sure that they
are all correct....I have pasted the error message below:

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'testing', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0,
Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x80004005

This is the Error I get:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: New Trade In
Evaluation (Used) Lead', Account: 'Hardeep Sandhu - Barnes Wheaton GM',
Server: 'mail.telus.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket
Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

How can it be fixed? I tried Port 587 and it still does not work.

Any help will be appreciated.

@gavan: That error is usually caused by interference from an
antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

@"H Sandhu":
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Advanced,
then uncheck the SSL option.
