Cannot send and receive anymore

Hello
It's now 10 days that i cannot receive and send emails anymore.
I don't know what's happened
Here the mistakes that i receive
An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: POP3, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x80004005

An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x80004005

on my second computers is it well working with same parameters (xp)

What can be the problem?
Thanks

The "Port: 0" clue almost always means interference from your
antivirus program. Windows Mail is not compatible with most
McAfee and Norton security programs. Those will need to
be uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

When you remade the account, did you verify that on the Advanced
tab of account properties the port numbers were 25 for the outgoing
(SMTP) server, and 110 for the incoming (POP3) server?
Obviously the "Port 0" information in your error message indicates
either a wrong setting or a problem.

Assuming that you have ruled out your antivirus as the cause of
this problem, then my only other suggestion is to upgrade to WLM:

The issue with the Anti Virus can crop up at any time . Even a year after everything was running fine. Do not rule out the Anti Virus because it was working perfectly over a period of time without any issue(s)

If I upgrade to Windows Live will it keep everything I have in my inbox &
other folders?

TIA!
Lisa ;-)

If you mean Windows Live Mail, the answer is yes, it should import
(copy) your folders and your emails. Also, it only removes the shortcuts
to Windows Mail, so everything that's in Windows Mail now will be left intact,
in case you decide to go back to it.

Yes, that is what I meant...thanks so much, I'm going to download it now.
I have a stuck email in my inbox & in my sent folder. I hope it takes care
of it.

:)

addy's I had (3 different) to stay the same...can I undo this?

Thanks,
Lisa ;-)

There is no way to retrieve or cancel a message that has been sent.
Can't you just send a follow-up email to everyone, telling them to
ignore the previous notice?
