cannot see the network

I have just setup a Sony Laptop. I have entered all my ip\tcp information
in. I can see the internet but not my network. I have double checked my
ip/tcp numbers they are correct. I have chose my workgroup and it is
correct. I have the wireless lan off because I am hooking of to our regular
network. The error message is:
You might not have permission to use network resource. The list of servers
for this workgroup is not currently available.

Are there other computers on your network, that you'd like to access?

Check for misconfigured or overlooked personal firewalls:

Check registry setting restrictanonymous:

If no help yet, please provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, and we'll diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
