Cannot Scan anymore on an HP All in One

Have a new HP Pavilion Media Center PC and connected my previous HP Officejet
v40xi and performs all but the scanning.

Carey probably has the best solution but it may take a lot of
phone time. Did you connect the HP unit to your PC before
installing the software? You must install the software first
during which you'll be prompted when to connect the unit
and when to turn it on. "If all else fails, read instructions."
