Cannot reinstall due to superior installed version

Like a good little boy, I keep my version of Windows XP updated. But now I
just killed off a load of virsues and need to reinstall Windows XP to get it
back up and running at full capacity. But because of my superior version of
Windows XP I have installed, it will not let me reinstall XP. Anybody know
what to do in this situation?

You can easily make a current version of Windows XP
by slipstreaming SP2 and then burn a new CD.

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:

Alternatively, you can perform a repair installation [using Home or Pro -
only over same version] which will reinstate the system to the lower level.

Afterwards you can reinstall SP2 or other updates. Follow this link for
