I reinstalled Windows XP but now when I boot my computer i must choose from
two choices of windows. What did I do wrong and can I fix this without
reinstalling windows again?

Exactly how did you do that? And why?

but now when I boot my computer i must choose from

Then almost certainly you did it completely wrong.

What did I do wrong and can I fix this without
reinstalling windows again?

Reinstalling is very likely your best choice in the current situation.

Probably, you didn't reinstall (on top of the original), you installed it a
second time. Look in boot.ini to see the paths to each install.

I *think* (don't know for sure) that you should be able to simply delete the
second install. If you then want to reinstall, do so to the *same*
location as your original install.
