Cannot register my Windows XP that was reloaded via internet

With the assistance of a tech person over the phone from
Dell, we have reloaded Microsoft XP. I lost all previous
files in doing this. Now, I am prompted to re=register
my Windows XP software and have been unsucessful both via
email and phone to get it registered. Seems that my
product key is invalid (like I pirated the software or
something)and I can't seem to get this resolved. Anyone
have an answer?
 
Hi Jeanne,

Get Dell back on the phone, this is an issue with the key they supplied you
with.
