Re-loading XP Pro

I've been having problems with an older version of XP Pro I upgraded to from
Home on a new Dell computer. Dell is sending me a new XP Pro OS CD and they
are telling me via phone I can re-load XP Pro on top of current loaded XP
Pro. Is that correct that that can be done without reloading entire
computer, ie driver, apps etc.? Is that advisable?

Jack, I would reformat and re-install......IMHO....
