after an upgrade to xp pro my computer now does not
recognise my yamaha cd-rw player as able to burn but as a
plain cdrom, also there is no tab to enable it to burn.
how could this happen and is there a fix?

James

James, rt click MyComputer>Select Prop>Hardware>Device Manager>Dvd/Cdrom
drives. rt click on yours
and select Uninstall. Restart and let WinXP reinstall it. If that doesnt
work try going back to Device Manager>IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. rt click
on the Secondary IDE Channel and choose uninstall if that's
where the cdrw drive is hooked up to. If it's the Primary then uninstall
that.
