Try Tools > Junk E-mail Options... > International > Blocked Top_Level
Domain List... > Go down to SE (Sweden) and uncheck it (or whatever
international email address being used).

Make sure you don't have any virus checking s/w trapping the e-mail.
Temporarily shut down Norton or McAfee if you have one of them loaded. What
is the e-mail address that your husband gets and you don't? Is his XP
machine connected to the same mail and ISP provider that you are?

Click on Tools, then Junk E-mail Options, then Safe Senders. Add the
sender you are having trouble with to the list. Click on Apply, then
Blocked Senders. If the sender's address is on the list, or even just the
part after @, click on it, then Remove, then any approvals needed,
then Apply. Click on International, then Blocked Encoding List.
I don't know what you may need to remove from this list, so you may
as well click on Clear All, then OK, then Apply. Click on OK.

Both most versions of the McAfee antivirus software and a recent version of
the Trend antivirus software (details not available) cause assorted problems
in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately. So do most versions of the
Norton antivirus software, in case you are thinking of changing again. For
these, just disabling the email scanning or even the whole program is not
enough; you have to uninstall them to stop them from creating new problems.

For the McAfee software, you also need to run this cleanup program, since
its uninstall routine leaves too much behind:

You may also need to remove your email account under Windows Mail,
then restart Windows Mail, then create the account again to finish the
cleanup.

If you can't read .pdf files, you may need to install Adobe Reader so you
can do this:

Don't install the Google Toolbar unless you want more problems in
Windows Mail.

If you want a replacement antivirus program that doesn't cause problems
with Windows Mail, I recommend either avast! or AVG, either one with
a custom install that tells it to leave out the part that scans email.

Are you both accessing the same email account?
If so, configure both email programs to leave the messages on the server...

Tools - Accounts - youraccount - Properties - Advanced
[x] Leave a copy of messages on server
[x] Remove from server after [xx] days
