hello:
I'm having difficulty reading my emails in Windows Life Mail. Latter will
open, but when I click on each of the individual emails to read, nothing
happens at all -- absolutely unresponsive. Same applies when I click on Junk,
Drafts, sent, deleted etc.

This is the first time that such a weird thing is happening.

Can anyone please offer some suggestions to resolve this issue? help is most
appreciated.

System details: XP Pro, SP3, Zonealarm free.

Will I lose everything (addresses, emails etc) in the existing copy by doing
that?

you shouldn't because
the emails are in a special
database and by reinstalling,
you would only be affecting
the program files.

incidentally, you may or
may not know this, but
outlook express parallels
live mail in some ways.

so if you can open o.e.
and download your
messages, they should
be an exact copy of
what had been downloaded
in live mail.

in addition to the above,
you can open live mail and
export/backup all your messages
and then reimport them if
necessary.

it is a little tricky but go
to file>export>messages.

then it will ask you for
a location, click browse>
my documents.

then click make new folder
and create one that says
my live mail then ok it.

here is the tricky part because
you need to be absolutely sure
that your new "my live mail" is
actually selected for the export.

so you may have to bounce back
to the prior screen then click on
browse again and get your
new folder to appear in the
window.

then export away....

using the o.e. and
the live export, you
will have two backups
of your messages.

you're welcome.

i think live mail is
handy and impressive.

but i am still an o.e.
fan!
