How do one stop Newly received Windows Email for opening up automatily

I get junk E-mails for time to time...and I need to look at it to see if it is
really junk mail...I do not want it to open up Unless I want to read it.?

If happens if it is the first one...

Junk mail normally goes into the Junk E-mail folder. Those do not open
automatically. If a spam email is not recognized as such by Windows Mail,
it goes into the normal Inbox. You can prevent any email from opening
automatically by disabling the Preview pane: View, Layout...
