I can´t print from access. I get the message "no printer" but i have several
printers installed and i can print from the other apllications. can anyone
help pls?
thank you!!!

I'm experiencing the same problem. It sounds like you're trying to print
from the print button on the top line. If you print from the file menu
you'll be okay. I'm trying to find the answer to why the printer button is
showing "No printer".

I just changed my printer default to another printer and it seems to work
okay. I do however have this problem with 1 particular printer. I'm going
to contact HP on it because I'm having other problems where access is
concerned with this particular printer.

If this doesn't work for you, I would question the printer. I'm thinking
it's a driver issue, but not sure yet.

I had the same problem. Are you trying to use a network printer?
It seems that Access 2003 does not like network printers. If you set your
default printer to a 'real' printer that is physically connected (and turned
on) to your computer, all should start working. If you have to use a network
for printing, then I would suggest setting up a 'pdf' printer, (ie CutePDF),
use that as your default when using Access, then load the resulting output
file into Adobe Acrobat and print to the network printer. It is a real pain,
but the only way I can print (or even run reports) from Access 2003.

Hi,
There must be a better solution to this - I cant do this every time i want
to print.
Any ideas?

Cheers

My problem got solved by downloading the latest driver from the manufacturer
of the printer.

Delete the network printer from your printers/faxes

Click on Add printer

Click on Local printer and be sure to uncheck the "Automatically detect my
plug and pray printer"

Use local port LPT1 (this should be the default)

Next it's going to ask for the manufacturer/type of printer - Click "Have
Disk"

Navigate to whereever you saved the driver you downloaded

Finish the install of the printer don't bother printing a test page at this
point - Then right click on that printer and go to properties

Click on the ports tab, then click add port, then select Standard TCP/IP
port double click. The next window is going to ask for the printer name or
IP address, I would suggest using the IP address, as most networks don't
recognize the printer names.

This should solve your problem.

I have the same problem as the original poster. I have just started a new
job and taken over someone's computer. If I log in as her, I can print from
the Access database. If I log on as me, I can't. If I hover over the
printer button it says (no printer), and if I press Print, nothing happens.
I can use all other aspects of the database and print from all other
applications. Anyone have any ideas?
