Upgraded to windows xp and cannot download or play online games from yahoo or popcap. com....The game fails to download and I just get a blank window with an x in the corner.
I was able to play these games on previous windows 98 system. I installed Java and Direct x. I also checked the security settings for internet explorer. Still cannot display online games. Can someone please advise. Thank you.

Mommy*2*3,

Both Popcap and Yahoo support offers this advice:

"1.When I click on "Play Now" I get a "Please Wait" message but the game
never loads.

You must make sure that Java is enabled in your web browser.

For Netscape: In the Menu bar, click Edit, then Preferences. Select Advanced
then check the boxes for "Enable Java" and Enable "Javascript".

For Internet Explorer: Under Tools, select Internet Options.

Select Security, then check to see if your security level is set to Medium
or lower. If you have custom Security settings, make sure that under Java,
you have not selected "Disable Java" in "Java Permissions". Instead, select
another setting. As well, under "Scripting of Java Applets", select "Enable"
or "Prompt". Select Advanced. Under Java VM check "Java logging enabled" and
"Java console enabled".

Windows XP users: If you have a new installation of Windows XP or Internet
Explorer 6, you may need to download the Java Virtual Machine from Sun:
http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html"

You say that you've already installed Java, but you might check and make
sure your Java settings match the settings listed above. If your settings
match and you still have problems with online games, I would suggest you
uninstall Java, delete the Java directory on your hard drive, then
re-install Java.

Hope this helps.
