Cannot open some Attachments

When attempting to open Attachments get notice that "This file does not have
a program associated with it for performing this function. Create an
Association in the Set Assoc. Control Panel".

Cannot find Association Control Panel. Not certain what to enter when I do
find it.
Has anybody found solution to this problem?

Try this...

Control Panel>Default Programs>Set Associations

Control Panel>Default Programs
What type of attachment are you trying to open?

right click your attachment
click "save target as"
choose where u wanna it to be
then try again, if it still doesnt work,
rename your file name, add .(whatever the type of file is)
then it should work.

What type of attachment are you trying to open? It is a known
bug that .PDF attachments can't be opened from within Windows Mail.
It is always better to save the attachment first, then open the
saved file.

I am STILL having this problem.

I can open and view Word and PDF.

I cannot open images or PowerPoint (I have the viewer).

I use Trend antivirus but have disabled it.

I have set the "Set Associations" but still to no avail.

I find it very frustrating that I have to save the attachments then open. I
don't watn to save them. It's just the long way round and inconvenient to do
so.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thank you Gary. I did that and it resolved my problem with PPS.

But I still have the problem with JPG/JPEGs any ideas? May be that's
another regedit?

Perhaps it will take a regedit to fix the JPEG issue, but I haven't
come across anything definite on it.
